New Features coming this Autumn

13th October 2025

We’re delighted to let you know of some of the new MedLearn features that are coming over the next few months.

1. Customised colour schemes for users with colour vision deficiency (CVD).

Many of our dashboards use red / amber / green to indicate status, and we’re aware this is not ideal for some users. We’ve taken inspiration from  colour schemes such as those on this page:
https://visualisingdata.com/2019/08/five-ways-to-design-for-red-green-colour-blindness/
And you will soon be able to customiser RAG colours used within MedLearn.

2. Attaching assessments to multiple sub groups / teaching groups

One limitation of MedLearn assessments is that you can currently only attach one group or module to a MedLearn assessment, and so if you want a subset of students to take the assessment (e.g. for a resit) you need to create a new group just for those students. In the same that you can attach multiple teaching groups to register events, we will be implementing an improvement that allows multiple groups, including teaching groups (from CELCAT) to be added to assessments.

3. Mitigating Circumstances form improvements

Students will shortly be able to view the available outcomes available to them and select their preferred choice when submitting new mit circs. Each outcome can have a brief description e.g. “allow late” can have meaningful text applied.

This is visible to admins and reviewers, but they can obviously select any appropriate outcome as required.

If you have any queries or comments about the features listed above please get in touch.
